sour-face-lemonAs of Late… Summer Oranges and Sour Lemons

First off, I’m still podcasting, don’t worry, but please read on.  If some people get the Winter Blues (which I am not disputing) then I am one of those people who experience what I am calling the Summer Oranges because every Summer my productivity takes a real drop.  My energy and focus gets killed, by what, I’m not sure.  Could it be the longer days?  Could it be the heat?  Could it be the humidity? Could it be all three? I don’t know.

Now some of you may have noticed that I haven’t put out an episode of The Infinite and the Beyond (TI&TB) since June (since November for Baphmetis, which I treat differently than a regular show).  These things happen and a gap like this has occurred every year of the podcast around this time.  Am I podfading? HELL NO!  I know this for a fact because contributing to the community is a part of who I am, but what I have been grappling over in my bald-headed brain is a desire to change podcasting formats (which pains me).  Why? Well, my path and my life have become more demanding, but in a good way.  The Gardnerian coven that I have been involved with will be initiating me on September 7th 2013 so please keep me in your thoughts as I continue on this journey.

Alongside the great people I’ve met and the experiences I’ve gained working with the coven, I am now getting closer to having regular homework for all of this that will include research papers and a lot of reading, which I am very excited about!  So, with my work for the coven and doing monthly workshops and regular classes at a local venue as I have been, the usual demand and personal expectation of writing for TI&TB is becoming difficult to accommodate.  (For the record, any demand and expectation I harbor is my own and I base it on a desire to preserve the history and reputation of the podcast).  So, making any changes to such a rigidly formatted podcast fills me with remorse, disdain, you name it.  The thought of changing something so established stresses me out. It really does. I can be such a Taurus like that.  Just ask Tara.

Another factor is that in the last year the list of people that I’ve been wanting to interview has grown significantly, but the current format for TI&TB, in its elegant yet restrictive manner, makes doing interviews for the podcast difficult because they then need to be tied into the other show content to complete the episode.  Basically- something has to give, which kills me.

So, to preserve the history, style and quality of TI&TB, I am going to respectably shift formats.  Yes, a third show in a sense or a new phase of the podcast.  After finishing Episode #33 of The Infinite and the Beyond, I’m going to shift formats to what I’m calling Down at the Crossroads which will be made up of interviews/discussions broken up by featured music.  TI&TB segments like A Corner in the Occult or The Essence of Magick Series may happen from time to time depending on the episode, but I’m not promising that their appearance will be common or happen at all considering the work they involve.  I apologize most of all for this change because I know how enjoyed these segments were by many of you, which also upsets me about this necessary transition.  I can just only hope that you find the same level of depth, history, and insight in this new format that you found in four years of TI&TB.

down_at_the_crossroads-logo-5So, coming in September meet me down at the crossroads where witches gather for the sabbath, offerings are left, and deals are made for musical fame.  Down at the Crossroads is essentially a talk show, featuring one on one interviews and discussions with today’s most influential Pagan artists, authors, musicians, teachers, leaders, bloggers, podcasters, and more!  The conversations are sure to be inspiring, insightful, entertaining, and always engaging.  We will attempt to push the community forward and take devil’s advocate to a whole new level.  Exploring topics that will turn the Pagan community on its head in an attempt to gain a new perspective on life, all while hearing some great music by today’s greatest Pagan and Pagan inspired musicians and bands.  Down at the Crossroads is where today’s Paganism crosses paths with the world!

So, you may be wondering what do you need to do as a TI&TB listener?

Nothing!  Over the years, I have began to view ‘Infinite-Beyond’ as a brand name rather just a podcast or website.  This new show will fall into the TI&TB RSS feed so you’ll already be subscribed to it, unless of course you don’t want to be.  I will include an announcement in the feed about the format change for later finders of the podcast and then the new show will follow after.  All previous episodes of TI&TB will remain available in the feed for continued enjoyment and reference by any future listeners.

To show your support…

Please Share, Tweet, Like, G+, Pin, etc. this post to spread the word to anyone or any group you think would like to know about the change.  I appreciate any and all support that you can offer me in this transition which I honestly see as a positive thing. Not podcasting at all would be the worst thing I could do.  Plus, above all else, I DON’T WANT TO STOP PODCASTING!  As a contributing Pagan, I’m in this for life!  Trust me.

Bright Blessings & Blessed Be!

**UPDATE – 8/15/2013**  As the universe shall have it, E-33 will have to be the first installment of the new format. Things are happening too quickly to do otherwise.  I may have several interviews happening by the end of the month so I need to change sooner rather than later.  Don’t worry, it’s a good thing, though unexpected.

I love the album cover… that is an album cover isn’t it… it looks like a good album cover… reminds me of the blues for some reason. I expect some excellent music as per usual to go with the interviews. 😉 Is that a sour puss?

It should be an album cover shouldn’t it? We should start a pagan jug band Lloyd. 😉

Good luck with the new format! TI&TB has been one of my favorite podcasts over the years, and I will miss it, but I look forward to the interviews. I have enjoyed the interviews you’ve done before, so I’m sure your new direction will produce another top-notch podcast. Congrats on your upcoming initiation, as well! Blessed Be!

Thank you Scott that means a lot to hear you say all of that! I hope the new format is just as well received and enjoyed.
